The last two weeks have been spent in Crossville, TN at the East Coast Rally for Heavy Duty Trucks. The highlight of our week was seeing old friends and meeting new ones, but there was much more going on. Except for a few days when winter tried an encore, spring was in full swing here. Trees are budding, birds are singing (sometimes way too early in the morning) and the animals are out looking for food.

We had a week between our time in Florida and our need to be in Tennessee. We decided to stop in Murphy, NC to get a glimpse of the Appalachian Mountains.

As we said in our previous post, we came to Florida for one reason (I know what you are thinking, but it is not the heat or the humidity!)

It was a busy winter in Texas. Most of our time was filled with work, but we also had some time to relax and visit with friends and family. Reinvesting ourselves in the lives of those we love in Texas is always a blessing and we miss them greatly as we travel. It is good to see friends on a regular basis (especially each week at church) and know the details of the joys and share in the struggles and pains of life. We are encouraged by good news and hurt with them when difficulties arise. This year there was an abundance of both - joy and sorry. Not sure how much our Texas friends know how close we hold them to our hearts and pray for their welfare. It is hard to leave each Spring.

We had been following the World Series very closely. The Astros had a phenomenal year and they were doing excellent in the post-season. We were in the middle of a horse field (manure and all) in Texarkana finishing up an RV Rally and trying to decide what to do next. We had planned to drive to the Natchez Trace to watch the leaves turn, but cold and rain for forecast for the area for almost two weeks. If we waited out the weather, the leaves would probably all be gone.
