From Marion, we drove about an hour to Lake Junaluska, NC. We've stayed there before and looked forward to another visit.
From Junaluska, we took more time to explore the lower end of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Smokey Mountain National Park. We took a short hike to Clingman's Dome and saw some wonderful vistas.
We drove the Southern Parkway and side roads and saw more beautiful views and the beginning of fall color.
Many of our drives started out quite cold. That is ice, not water on the cliff-side.
We hiked to a few of waterfalls to drink in the peace.
A couple of the falls were just along the roadside.
And saw amazing vistas everywhere we looked!
From Junaluska, we drove about an hour to Sevierville for a Rally. It was a pretty relaxed rally, so we hoped we'd have time to catch the fall color when it came in force.
