Trey and Susan Adventures

Once our few days in Columbus had passed, we moved farther east.

We left Columbus, GA and drove to Perry where we met up with two other weighing teams to work the FMCA Rally.  We spent the first three days on a hot parking lot teaching others how to drive RV Motorhomes. It was very enjoyable, but also very tiring. We then spent a few days at the rally working in the booth, talking to folks, and getting information on thier RVs. The last two days were spent weighing RVs as they left the Rally. By the time it was all over, we were both exhausted! It was a long, but good, week.

One evening after work, we drove to a famous hot dog place about 20 minutes outside of town and tried a Nu-Way Hotdog. It was one of the hot dogs listed on the PBS Hot Dog Program we saw years ago - that was the show that began our hot dog journey. We forgot to take a picture of the dog. It was okay but cost way too much. On the drive, we saw several Georgia peach orchards announcing thier fruit in spectacular ways.

It was early in the flowering season. If we had time to drive out there again, the blooms would have been bigger. There were also pecan orchards, but those trees were still quite barren.

In the middle of the week, some friends mentioned they were passing through Perry and we met them briefly. A few days later they passed through on the return trip and we had a longer visit and shared some ice cream.  We love these quick meetings on the road. It is wonderful to stay connected with our friends.

That pretty much sums up the last week and a half. Because we worked so much this past week we missed many news stories, but were saddened by what happened in Brussels. Many prayers are needed - both for those hurting and for those inflicting the harm - that they might know real Truth. Living in these troubled times reminds us that life is uncertain. It is a daily struggle to live properly, to love properly, and to give properly. Keeping our minds set on Christ (The Rock) and not on the world (shifting sand) is really the only thing that brings lasting comfort.

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above,
where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
